GIDE 2.3.3: the first five minutes
GIDE 2.3.3 reworks the first-run experience: a Welcome card with three direct actions, model downloads inside the chat welcome view, and a model picker that shows every state a model can be in.

GIDE 2.3.3 is about the first five minutes. When you install GIDE and don’t have a model yet, the path from an empty chat to a working model should be short and obvious. This release puts every step of it where you’re already looking.
At a glance
- Welcome card actions. Three direct actions when no model is installed.
- Downloads inside the chat welcome view. Progress, pause, resume and verification in one place.
- Model picker states. Every row says what’s happening and what selecting it will do.
Welcome card actions
When no model is installed yet, the chat panel shows a Welcome card with three direct actions:
- Download Ornith 1.0 9B.
- Pick a different model.
- Connect Private Cloud.
No hunting through menus.
Download inside the chat welcome view
The model download now lives where you’re already looking. The progress bar, the pause and resume states, and the verification step are all visible in the chat welcome view, instead of on a separate surface.
Model picker states
The model picker learned every state a model can be in:
- downloading
- verifying
- paused, with resume available
- update available
- ready
Each row tells you what’s happening and what selecting it will do.
For the short version of every change, see the GIDE changelog.
